Most fragrances contain chemicals that are known to be respiratory irritants.
It is almost impossible to avoid this common irritant, even in rural areas. The exhaust from just one car can trigger symptoms.
Changes in temperature or in humidity level can be irritants. Very cold weather can also trigger common allergy symptoms.
Common symptoms of smoke irritation are burning or watery eyes, a stuffed-up nose, and coughing.
Many household products, including cleaning products, antiseptics, and cosmetics, contain the chemical formaldehyde. This chemical can cause itchy, burning, or watery eyes.
